Alicia Maldonado, of La Coste, Texas, passed away May 15, 2026 at the age of 81. She was born October 5, 1944 in Sinton, Texas, to Alfredo P. Maldonado and Francisca Quintero Maldonado.

Alicia worked as a teacher's aide at Medina Valley High School and then Somerset High School.

Survivors include her daughters, Laura Valdez (Carmelo) of La Coste and Mary Lou Garcia (Joe) of Hondo; grandchildren, Fredrick Miller IV (Courtney), Matthew Miller (Amanda), Vanessa Zepeda, Kameron Zepeda, Joe Garcia II, and Michael Garcia; great-granddaughters, Amara and Kingsleigh; siblings, Beatrice Hernandez, Elena Zapata (Nieves), Irene Camarillo (Roy), Delia Fraga, Alfred Maldonado (Sarah), Amelia Maldonado, and Ruben Maldonado (Daniel); as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Alicia was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Anita Fraga and Margarita Maldonado.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. Services will conclude at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in Alicia's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Breast Cancer, or to the charity of your choice.
