Alejandro "Baby Alex", Rodriguez, Jr. of Castroville, Texas, passed away December 12, 2023 at the age of 39. He was born January 16, 1984 in San Antonio to Alegandro Rodriguez, Sr. and Sonia Surita Huron.

Alex graduated from Medina Valley. While in grade school, he helped his Grandpa Pat on the farm and with the cattle, and on their down time, they enjoyed hunting together. He also helped his father, Alex, Sr. working with him at Castroville Collision Paint and Body work. As he got older, he worked at Green Mountain Construction with his stepfather, Mark. After that, he pursued a career as an ironworker, which he would travel to follow his line of work.

He enjoyed quality time with family at his great-grandfather, Tatas, property along the Medina River, fishing, swimming, and canoeing. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and truly loved the outdoors and was always one with nature. He was also skilled in the art of drawing, which he acquired when he spent his downtime at many of his temporary housing facilities.

Alex had just recently relocated along with his wife, Brittany, and children to start a new life at her family's residence in Rivera, New Mexico. He was a Godly man who did everything in life with excitement and impulsivity.

Survivors include his wife, Brittany Rodriguez of Rivera, New Mexico; daughters, Ali Lopez, Sharaiah Briseno, and Aurora Rodriguez; son, Alejandro Rodriguez; stepdaughter, Gabriella Coronado; mother, Sonia H. Mechler (Mark); father, Alegandro Rodriguez, Sr. (Michelle); sisters, Angelica Mechler, Sabrina Mechler, Miranda Rodriguez, and Jennifer Garza; brothers, Matthew Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez, Brandon Mechler, and Dalton Mechler; grandparents, Andres Rodriguez, Sr. and Sharyn Mechler; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Alex was preceded in death by his grandparents, Silverio and Consuelo Huron, Ernestina Rodriguez, and Patrick Mechler.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
